We are looking for a Facility Management specialist for the earliest possible starting date for the responsible monitoring, coordination and billing of maintenance and repair work on the building services systems of the EMBL and its guest houses in the areas of heating, cooling, sanitary, air conditioning, ventilation and measurement, control & regulation technology.  

Your role

The area of responsibility includes the monitoring and coordination of troubleshooting of technical systems in the areas of Heating, Ventilation, Sanitary and Cooling. You will also plan, tender and monitor renewals and conversions in the specialist areas, as well as supervise the implementation of external service providers. You will work on new constructions and conversions and will be responsible for the replacement or refurbishment of technical systems by specialist companies and monitor and inspect the work that is mainly carried out by external companies.

Responsibilites include:
  • Planning and monitoring of the maintenance of technical systems with a focus on heating, sanitary, ventilation and cooling technology as well as gas installation and laboratory technology
  • You will help determine the building maintenance and building requirements and set appropriate priorities through building inspections and cost estimates
  • Preparation of maintenance plans
  • Independent, interdisciplinary project management of conversion and expansion projects up to €500k
  • You will work with the compilation of the necessary construction and tender documents as well as with the awarding and placing of orders.
  • Client representation and coordination of those involved in the project for new construction and renovation work on the systems
  • Compliance with and monitoring of standards, current norms and regulations as well as ensuring compliance with official requirements
  • You are involved in the functional check, the handover to the user, the invoice verification and the warranty checks
  • Interface function to the areas of electrical engineering and infrastructure

You have

  • Successfully completed studies as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) / Bachelor of Supply Technology or a comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of technical building services
  • Planning experience in the Heating, Ventilation, Sanitary + Cooling trades
  • Willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • German and English spoken and written
  • Experience in the implementation of BIM/CAFM standards
  • Experience in managing and monitoring external service providers
  • Experience in dealing with SAP
  • Experience in dealing with Autocad/Revit

You might also have

  • Previous relevant experience ideally gained in an international environment is advantageous
