Joining the lab

Currently, there are opportunities to join our research group as a postdoctoral researcher for those interested in applying for external funds. We will not be accepting new PhD students this year.

Applicants for postdoctoral positions

Being an interdisciplinary group, we are looking for people with a variety of expertise (biologists, biochemists, biophysicists, pharmacologists, and engineers). Experience with iPSC or ESC differentiation, and microfluidics knowledge, would be beneficial. Current projects include preclinical model development using vascularised organoids – with a focus on cardiac tissue. The candidate is expected to work mostly independently, and closely with collaborators.

To apply, please contact Kristina Haase by email and attach your CV and a brief letter summarising your research interests.

Applicants for PhD positions

Students in our group will have the opportunity to learn about and help develop a variety of new organ-specific vascular models using interdisciplinary approaches – combining human primary cells and iPSCs within microfluidic devices to investigate vascular pathologies, such as pre-eclampsia. We are interested in recruiting students from a variety of theoretical backgrounds (cell biology, bioengineering, and biophysics). An interest in preclinical model development would be beneficial. Extremely motivated students will be expected to work on challenging projects with clinical collaborators.

PhD applicants: Please apply through the EMBL International PhD Programme.
